Benjamin Cosgrove – IMSA Allies Chicago Program Instructor
Ben serves as the Allies Director and is beyond pumped to see the students discover through hands on learning this summer! Ben takes multitasking to a whole new level because he can juggle while riding a unicycle!
May Hunter-Smith – IMSA Allies Chicago Program Instructor
May has a Master’s Degree in Teaching from University of Chicago and is now a math teacher at Perspectives Math and Science Academy. This summer, she is thrilled to be able to help in facilitating fun experiences in STEM. Fun fact: May has built an entire house from tree to finished structure.
Tyler Schrage – Metro East Faculty
Tyler has a Master of Education degree from SIUE and is a 5th grade teacher at Silver Creek Elementary in Troy, IL. He can’t wait to have the opportunity to work with ambitious students this summer by engaging with them in STEM activities. Some may ask him: “how’s the weather up there?” because he is a whopping 6 feet 9 inches tall!
Alyssa Baumann- Metro East Faculty
Alyssa earned a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education from Eastern Illinois University and is now a 3rd grade teacher at Hinchcliffe Elementary in O’Fallon, IL. Alyssa is pumped to meet students who share her passion in STEM and work with them to explore how STEM is applicable to our everyday lives! However, just don’t offer her any seafood because she has a major fish phobia, yikes!
Joe Cipfl – Metro East Faculty
Joe graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education, and later earned a Masters in Educational Leadership at McKendree University. Now a Biology teacher in O’Fallon School District 90, he’s excited to be working with motivated and enthusiastic STEM students in our IMSA programs this summer. When Joe isn’t teaching, he’s an avid swimmer and cyclist.
Maggie Cluck – Springfield Teacher
Maggie attended St. Xavier where she earned her Master’s Degree in Teaching and Leadership and now is an intermediate classroom teacher at Springfield Ball Charter School. During her summer at IMSA, she can’t wait to share all of the hands on fun with the students. When she is not teaching, Maggie enjoys theater and is even is playing Grandma Georgina in the Springfield Muni Opera’s production of Willy Wonka this summer!
LaTonya Davis – Springfield Teacher
LaTonya studied Elementary Education at UIS at Springfield and now works at Springfield Ball Charter School as an intermediate classroom teacher. She is thrilled to meet new students this summer and can’t wait to see their faces light up as they discover new things! In LaTonya’s down time, you can find her with a book in her hand because she loves to read!
Angie Meneghetti – Springfield Teacher
Angie is a 7th and 8th grade math teacher at Grant Middle School . She can’t wait to see the excitement on the student’s faces as they discover new things! Angie has traveled to 12 countries and would love to share her travel stories with anyone who asks!
