Sarah O’Leary- Driscoll – Integrated Science Faculty
Sarah earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Augustana College, and continued her studies at Northern Illinois University, where she completed her Master of Science degree in Biology. She’s worked as a part of the IMSA science faculty for 8 years, and looks forward to getting to know some “amazingly enthusiastic young scientists!”
Dr. Crystal Randall – Integrated Science Faculty
Crystal earned her Ph.D. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. This summer, she is looking forward to helping young scientists discover the role science plays in their daily lives. Dr. Randall’s love for science doesn’t end when she leaves the classroom, either. In her office, she has a rotating model of DNA, science legos, and a giant white blood cell!
Dr. Brian Moskalik – Science@IMSA Faculty
Brian earned his Ph.D. at the University of Cincinnati. This summer, Brian is thrilled to inspire young people and help them to appreciate organismal biology. Unlike most people, Brian clearly doesn’t have arachnophobia because for the last 12 years, he has been studying spiders!
Dr. Somya Anjur – Science@IMSA and Engineering @IMSA Faculty
Dr. Somya Anjur is a member of IMSA’s science department and teaches upper-level classes here at IMSA. Dr. Anjur has earned her Ph.D. at Iowa State University. She not only loves learning and teaching science, but she also has an arty side. This summer, she’s thrilled to begin working with each of the students, and maybe even showing off some of her tap dancing skills!
Dr. Megan Powell – Extreme Math and Science @ IMSA Faculty
Megan earned her Ph.D. from University of Toledo and now works as an assistant professor. This summer, Megan is eager to use math modeling to teach the students. In her free time, Megan likes to play the violin and has been playing it since she was in the fourth grade!
Julie Polz – Lab Manager
Julie is the Science Lab Manager and Lab Safety Coordinator at IMSA’s Aurora campus. She graduated from Augustana College with a degree in Chemistry, and has used it to cultivate, grow, and protect many of our organic species. As a veteran of IMSA’s summer programs, she is excited to see what’s in store this year. When she isn’t in the lab, Julie loves volunteering at TAILS Humane Society!
Anne Joseph, RN
Anne Joseph, RN, is a nurse in IMSA’s student health office –both in the summer and school year. Anne has an M.S. in Nursing from the University of Illinois, Chicago. She loves the energy of IMSA’s summer programs and seeing young children interested and engaged in math and science!
Angie Shoener – RN
Angie Shoener is a nurse in IMSA’s student health office. She holds her B.S. in nursing from Waubonsee Community College and is an avid volunteer for the Cub Scouts—working many hours for Cub Scouts as a Den leader for her own boys as well as a program director for a Cub Scout Summer Camp. During summer Angie loves watching the enthusiasm of the students as they challenge themselves!
Luke Lucchetti – Summer Program Supervisor
Luke has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and works as an assistant Site Coordinator for IN2 at IMSA. This summer, he is looking forward to witnessing the payoff from all the staff’s hard work in preparing for the summer programs by seeing the excitement and drive to learn on all the kids’ faces!. Little known fact about Luke is that he has been practicing yoga for the past two years.
